Were you 'Away From School The Day They Did English'?
Do you struggle to read big long words in text and skip over them?
Would you like to be able to read with your children or grandchildren?
We make it easy to learn in a fun environment with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Maths isn't just for 'Nerds'!
With today's modern calculators and shop tills, there's often no need to be able to count, right?
You hand the shop assistant a fiver or a tenner, then just pocket the change?
Well, you'd be amazed at just how often you're given the wrong change, and it always seems to be in the shop's favour!
This is where basic maths skills come in, and this is exactly what we teach! It's FREE for anyone who is on benefits.
It doesn't matter who you are, we never judge. You receive all the support and encouragement you need from teachers and other
students who are very approachable. To find out more, call in or phone 0114 2853093.
Did you know: its FREE to join the library and to borrow books? anyone in Sheffield can join.
We have provided 2 reading tables, comfortable chairs also small adjustable tables in the children's section.
Drinks and refreshments are now available in the snack bar. We have worked really hard to fulfill things you asked in our
questionnaire.A wide range of books are available from Babies first book, Picture books, Young Adults and latest releases.
There is a good selection of easy readers and quite a large catalogue of books you can order. Stationary is now available at
reasonable cost also single stamps (first and second class).
In our last newsletter we let you know we were taking over the running of Southey Library.
The feedback we have received has been really positive. It was stressful start. We would like to thank all people who use
the library at this time for their patience and understanding. On Dec 2nd another 6 volunteers attended. Great help as
all volunteers will now be able to use the specialised computer system. We have replaced furniture improved facilities to make
more social and welcoming atmosphere. Why not call in and see us. If you have any ideas on anything we can do please let us know,
if we can do it we will. Southey Forum was set up and been run by volunteers since 2008?
